Foundation Grant to Help Catholic Charities with Facility Renovation

The Investors Foundation, which supports non-profit organizations that enrich the communities served by Investors Bank, has awarded a $10,000 grant to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, among the region’s largest social-service agencies.

Catholic Charities, which traces its roots to the 1903 founding of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of New Jersey, operates numerous programs throughout Greater Newark and the surrounding counties. The agency’s services include housing and shelter programs, private special education schools for students with disabilities, adoption services, immigration services, and many other programs. The grant will fund the removal and replacement of flooring at Catholic Charities’ Engel Center, located on South Avenue East in Cranford. The Engel Center provides a senior social day-care program for elderly residents of Union County. An affiliated agency, the Mount Carmel Guild Behavioral Health System, also provides services at the site.

"The flooring at the Center is old and in disrepair, and we’re committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients and personnel," said Catholic Charities Executive Director Allan Daul. "Thanks to the generous support of the Investors Foundation, we’ll be able to completely replace the floors in both the senior center and office areas."

"Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark makes a positive difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people and families each year, including some of New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents," said Investors Bank President and CEO Kevin Cummings, who also serves on the Foundation’s board. "We applaud their tireless and dedicated service to communities in need."
